Description:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and financial reporting.
This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to ACES financial policies and all state and federal accounting and finance regulations.
The Controller will partner with the executive team and play a critical role in making financial decisions to help drive growth across the organization.
Requirements:
Essential Functions / Responsibilities

· Responsible for timely, accurate, and efficient accounting close on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
· Develops, analyzes, documents, and implements internal controls
· Analyze financial accounts and review account reconciliations; Performs technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary
· Ensure revenue is reported in line with revenue recognition policies
· Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, internal controls, external audits, and treasury management
· Maintain tax compliance and assist in the preparation of sales/use, income, and employee withholding tax returns
· Lead year-end audit and tax preparation
· Manage external relationships, including customers and vendors
· Work closely with finance to prepare financial reports, including those for review by the executive team and the Board of Directors
· Oversees the Accounting department
Qualifications & Competencies
· Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and an in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Knowledge of state and federal tax laws, specifically sales and use tax
· Demonstrated understanding of financial accounting statements
· Experience working in QuickBooks, Bill.
com, Paylocity and Expensify
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Critical thinking and entrepreneurial spirit
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
· 8-12 years of progressive accounting experience
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Controller will be responsible for supervising other accounting staff and 3rd party contractors used to assist in accounting functions
Travel Required
Up to 25% travel may be required
